34. What I've learned the last 3 weeks...
1. Everything cost less or is free once you're out of California.
2. The higher the elevation, the better the gas mileage.
3. Hotel trash cans can be filled with ice to restock your cooler.
4. Kansas people drive WAY to slow and their posted speed limit sucks.
5. Continental Breakfast = FREE FOOD. Get your ass out of bed and take advantage of it.
6. The GPS is NOT always right and I don't appreciate the tone she uses.
7. Dramamine is AWESOME to get your kids to sleep late at night.
8. 1 No-Doze lasts WAY longer than it says and I can't take it after 7pm or I don't sleep, AT ALL!!
9. Kids don't wake up from a Dramamine-induced sleep when you carry them from the car to the hotel room.
10. I LOVE HAVING A 75 MPH SPEED LIMIT.
11. Racing a lightning storm is A LOT of fun.
12. The Arkansas State Police have SWEET rides: Dodge Chargers
13. There are entirely too many State Police in Arkansas.
14. I can sweat so much that I am actually slippery.
15. If you listen to your kids music long enough, you start liking it.
16. When you get out of California, people, in general, are a lot more polite.
17. When people were polite to me, I was suspicious.
18. Fireflies are really cool, no matter what age you are.
19. I drove from California to Missouri and only saw 2 State Troopers.
20. Driving 6000 miles with just yourself and two kids, can teach you a lot about your relationship and the amount of patience you have.
21. Route 66 is really, really cool.
22. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, should drive across the country just once in their life to experience and appreciate all the beauty that is there to see and receive.
23. I loved waking everyday to a new adventure.
24. To help with transition of a new place everyday, we had a game of looking for our "Lucky" charms: Slept in a town called "Shamrock" in Texas. Found a toad outside our hotel room and another in the hallway by the ice machine. Found a grasshopper on our window.
25. Hiding snacks in the cupholders of booster seats is always a good idea. That way, when everyone has reached their limit, SNACK SURPRISE!
26. My kids find the weirdest things: a human tooth
27. Tylenol PM gives me crazy dreams!! The best one was about my friend D. She was a beekeeper and two pet spiders that were the size of dinnerplates. She had a cross-dressing roomate named Jeff that liked to wear haltertops with his big white beer belly hanging out below it.
28. I love my husband so much that I actually missed him while at the same time was relieved he wasn't there.
29. Every single rest stop outside of California was set-up really really nicely!
30. I am glad to come home.
